Prince Charming may be closer than you think with a community theatre group's presentation of Cinderella.

Students of the Burlington-based M and J Music Studio will perform Rodgers' and Hammerstein's Cinderella next week at the Milton Seniors' Activity Centre, 500 Childs Dr.

The musical's cast is made up of Milton young people, as well as students (aged 12 to 18) from surrounding communities.

The show will run Thursday, Aug. 21 to Saturday, Aug. 23 at 7:30 p.m. each night, with a matinee performance Saturday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m.

The show is part of the music studio's Curtain Call program, which is a two-month summer class designed to help develop students' singing, dancing and acting skills.

Melissa Gonsalves, co-founder of Curtain Call along with James Fellows, said the young cast has surprised and impressed them.

"The cast's enthusiasm and hard work are inspiring," she said. "They are incredibly dedicated and talented, and everyone is excited about sharing the play with the community."

Tickets are available on-line for $12 each at www.mandjmusic.com or at the door, or $10 each by calling Patti at (905) 876-2222 and leaving a message with the number of tickets you need and for which performance.
