Dateline is a free listing of coming events only. The column is available to local community groups to assist in promoting their future events. Only charitable or non-profit community groups may use this service. We can only guarantee one issue of publicity of the occurrence although more insertions are possible if space permits.

SATURDAY AUG. 9

A garage sale takes place at 80 Bruce St. (at the corner of Oak Street) from 8 a.m. to noon with proceeds going to the environmental activities -- including education and advocacy -- of Miltongreen, a non-profit group. For more information, call (905) 878-4349.

A lemonade stand fundraiser -- the brainchild of two little girls -- takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the splash pad near Guardian Angels School, with money going to the Hospital for Sick Children.

SUNDAY AUG. 10 - 11

The Milton Players Theatre Group holds auditions for its next play, 'Out of Order,' by Ray Cooney, a farce set in the 1980s in England. Six males and four females of various ages are needed. Auditions take place at 295 Alliance Rd., unit 15 starting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Monday.

MONDAY AUG. 11

The Milton Seniors' Activity Centre, 500 Childs Dr., holds duplicate bridge at 9:15 a.m., darts and billiards from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and table tennis from 7 to 9 p.m. The cost for each activity is $2 for members and $4 for non-members. TUESDAY AUG. 12

Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services (SAVIS) of Halton holds its weekly Hispanic Women's Group from 1 to 4 p.m. at Appleby United Church, 4407 Spruce Ave., Burlington. It's a confidential, open group for women and children. For more information, call (905) 825-3622.

Help for Parents, a Halton parent support group, meets in the evening in the basement of St. Elizabeth's Church, 5324 Bromley Rd., in Burlington. This non-denominational self-support group helps parents of children who are in trouble at home, at school or with the law or who are abusive or taking drugs. Calling New Parents, a free drop-in program for parents and babies aged 6 months and younger, meets with a public health nurse to discuss parenting and infant care.
