Dateline is a free listing of coming events only. The column is available to local community groups to assist in promoting their future events. Only charitable or non-profit community groups may use this service. We can only guarantee one issue of publicity of the occurrence although more insertions are possible if space permits.

SATURDAY JUNE 14

St. John Ambulance and RBC Insurance hold a car seat safety clinic to install and inspect car seats to government standards for parents and caregivers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Milton Mall in the parking lot that exits onto Main Street near Zellers. Family Fun Day, Silent Auction and BBQ is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hornby Cooperative Nursery School, 13526 Steeles Ave., near Trafalgar Road. Activities include Bouncy Castle, raffles, games and more. Admission costs $5 for adults, $2 for children and $10 for a family pass.

Joyce Scott Non-Profit Homes Inc., operators of Independent Living Halton and Deborah's Home, holds its annual general meeting at the Milton police station, 490 Childs Dr., at 7 p.m. It's open to the public and supporters of adults with physical disabilities.

The Milton and District Horticultural Society holds its general meeting from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Milton Bible Church, 200 Main St. E. The topic is 'Working Towards an Urban Water Balance' with Chris Denich speaking on a low impact development approach to wise water use. New members are welcome. Help for Parents, a Halton parent support group, meets in the evening in the basement of St. Elizabeth's Church, 5324 Bromley Rd., in Burlington. This non-denominational self-support group helps parents of children who are in trouble at home, at school or with the law or who are abusive or taking drugs. Calling New Parents, a free drop-in program for parents and babies aged 6 months and younger, meets with a public health nurse to discuss parenting and infant care.
