Is your child on track?
Halton Region recently launched a campaign with that name to raise awareness about the importance of observing early child development and responding right away to any concerns.
The campaign emphasizes 18 months of age as a critical time to track child development because it’s a period of growth when key developmental skills emerge.
A developmental checklist to track how a child is developing at various stages is being mailed out to Halton families with young children. As well, Region staff are available every weekday to answer questions about child development.
“Early intervention can dramatically improve child outcomes and have long-lasting benefits,” said Halton Medical Officer of Health Dr. Bob Nosal.
