Public’s assistance sought in unsolved murder
News
Oct 30, 2009
The OPP is seeking the public’s assistance in last fall’s murder of a young Milton man.

The body of 20-year-old Charles Agbajoh was found by a farmer in Hagersville April 19, though a postmortem examination revealed that he had been killed on November 2, 2008.

That was the same a 31-year-old man was shot in the stairwell of a Mississauga apartment building. Peel police issued an arrest warrant for Agbajoh.

Accused of meeting the other man for a drug deal, he faced charges of robbery, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.

With the one-year anniversary of his death this weekend, the Ontario government is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Agbajoh’s murder.

The OPP will set up a command post in Mississauga this weekend to remind the public that the investigation is ongoing and that any information — however insignificant it may seem — about the incident could be greatly beneficial.

“We know that there is someone out there who holds the missing piece of the puzzle that will solve this homicide,” said Detective Inspector Andy Karski. “It is often the smallest detail that can be the tipping point in an investigation, so we encourage anyone who thinks they may have any information to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or leave an anonymous on-line tip at www.helpsolvecrime.com .
