
Police said the 17-year-old female and her 14-year-old male friend were walking outside at about 6:30 p. m. when they were approached by a man known to the girl.
She was assaulted and her friend had a knife pulled on him.
The female suffered minor injuries.
A 23-year-old Toronto man has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, two counts of uttering a threat and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Impaired driving charge laid
Police have laid a drunk driving charge in connection with an incident in the early morning hours Saturday.
Police said they observed a vehicle squealing out of an Ontario Street South parking lot and then speeding away. Police pulled over the vehicle.
A 35-year-old Ontario Street man has been charged with driving with over the legal amount of alcohol in his blood.
Business broken into
A Harrop Drive business was broken into overnight Tuesday.
Police said an unknown suspect cut the locks off two large storage containers in the rear lot of Brandelle Industries and stole automotive equipment worth $9,000.
Property stolen from garages
Two garages were broken into sometime last week by unknown suspects.
The first incident occurred sometime between November 26 and Sunday at a Tupper Drive home where a mountain bike worth $2,300 was stolen.
Sometime between November 26 and Sunday, a number of tools and portable heaters worth $825 were stolen from a Bussel Crescent home.
Trailer broken into
A construction trailer on Trafalgar Road was broken into overnight November 25.
Police said an unknown suspect forced open the lock on the door to gain entry and made off with a DeWalt laser level worth $2,000, a Kenwood portable heater valued at $70 and a Brother printer worth $200.
Suspect arrested in fraud
An arrest was made Wednesday in connection with a credit card theft back in August.
Police said the credit card was stolen from a purse from the office of Allegro Freight on Main Street East. The suspect then used the credit card at the Loblaw Superstore.
A 33-year-old Kingsleigh Court woman has been charged with theft of a credit card, fraud under $5,000 and using a stolen credit card.
Arson investigated
Police are investigating after a tree was discovered ablaze Saturday at Rotary Park.
The fire was discovered by a citizen who was walking in the park and the Milton Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. Police said they’re investigating the incident as arson.
