Dateline is a free listing available to local community groups to assist in promoting their coming events. Only charitable or non-profit community groups may use this service. We guarantee one issue of publicity of the occurrence although more insertions are possible if space permits.

Dateline notices should be e-mailed to editorial@miltoncanadianchampion.com . The final deadline is noon Monday for Wednesday’s edition and 5 p. m. Tuesday for Friday’s edition. Dateline items won’t be accepted by telephone.

Monday Dec. 1

The Ontario Early Years Centre, 410 Bronte St. S., holds its Developmental Early Identification and Prevention Program (DEIPP) clinic for families with children aged newborn to five years (not yet in school). It runs from 9:15 to 11:15 a. m., offering a 15-minute consultation with professionals in the areas of speech, hearing, behaviour, preschool and infant development. No appointment is necessary; first come, first served. It also begins registration for Ontario Early Years and Milton Community Resource Centre Winter 2009 parent programs. The Milton Fibromyalgia Group meets at 1 p. m. at Casey’s restaurant on Maple Avenue. For more information, call Joanne at (905) 878-4371.

The Women’s Centre, suite 229 in Hopedale Mall, 1515 Rebecca St. in Oakville, holds a legal clinic from 6:30 to 8:30 p. m. A lawyer gives advice and guidance on issues surrounding separation and divorce during half-hour private sessions. For more information, call (905) 847-5520.

Monday Dec. 1 – 12

The Ontario Early Years Centre holds registration for its Marvellous Monday Morning Networking Group, an informal group to meet others and hear guest speakers address topics related to family, parenting and self-care. Tuesday Dec. 2

The Peel North Branch of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario meets at 10:15 a. m. at North Bramalea United Church, 363 Howden Blvd., Bramalea, with carol singing and the Brampton Cardinals choir entertaining. Help for Parents, a Halton parent support group, meets in the evening in the base- ment of St. Elizabeth’s Church, 5324 Bromley Rd., in Burlington. This nondenominational self-support group helps parents of children who are in trouble at home, at school or with the law or who are abusive or taking drugs. Calling New Parents, a free drop-in program for parents and babies aged six months and younger, meets with a public health nurse to discuss parenting and infant care.
