A fire broke out at Fix Auto Welland this morning.
The fire was contained to the compressor room which supplies the body shop with heat and air conditioning, said an employee.
“They just told me to leave, so I left,” said Henry, an employee of Fix Auto who would not give his last name.
Fix Auto employs 10, none who were injured in the blaze, which broke out around 9 a.m.
Fire officials were not immediately available for comment.
Henry said he didn’t believe there was too much damage to the 8x10-foot room.
Another employee, Barry, said he didn’t hear an explosion or see any flames, he only heard people yelling.
“They were yelling for quite awhile before I heard them,” said Barry, who had been working on a car at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation at noon.
