Literacy North Halton (LNH) is in urgent need of volunteer tutors for its Read*Spell*Write Program based in Milton.
Several students are currently waiting to be placed in the program. According to LNH, there’s a huge need for adult literacy tutoring in the community, with one in five adults requiring some help either with reading and writing, basic math or computers.
No experience is necessary for tutors and training is given. LNH asks its tutors to volunteer for three hours a week for up to one year.
