Milton Chamber of Commerce scholarship recipients gather recently with the selection committee for the presentation. The 2008 Scholarship Fund offers a $1,000 scholarship for a student from each high school in Milton, including E.C. Drury School for the Deaf.
In addition, there's a scholarship for a high school student registered with the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program and one for a son or daughter of a local chamber member.
This year's recipients were presented with their scholarships at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club.
The scholarship winners are:
Sponsors of the event were Prosperity One and Rattlesnake Point.
The chamber has offered scholarships to students attending their first year of post-secondary education since 1990.
It funds the program through its Scholarship Café at the Milton Farmers' Market and the annual Sports Celebrity Dinner and Auction.
