This comes after an incident Monday in which two men approached an Auger Terrace homeowner, saying they were collecting money for the Terry Fox Foundation.
The homeowner, who was suspicious, confronted the men and asked them several questions about the Terry Fox Run, police said.
They didn't have the right answers, and one of the men became verbally aggressive before leaving. The resident followed them, police said, and the suspects ran off.
He continued following them to their vehicle, which was parked in the Rabba lot on Derry Road. It was last seen heading east on Derry.
The first suspect -- the one actively soliciting -- is described as white, about 45, five-foot-six and 160 to 170 pounds. He has brown hair with some grey in it and was wearing a blue, short-sleeved shirt and dark Bermuda-style shorts.
The second suspect is a white male, about 20 years old, with a dark complexion and short, buzzed red hair. He was wearing a baggy, white t-shirt.
The vehicle they got into was a blue Chrysler 300.
Anyone who was approached by these men is asked to call Det. Duncan Taylor at (905) 825-4747, ext. 2368.
