Police said that just before 9:30 p.m., two suspects smashed the glass to one of the doors at the entrance of the store on Main Street, near Bronte Street. The alarm sounded and scared them off before they could attempt to get through the next door, and they drove away.

Police responded and after about 20 minutes they found a car that matched the description witnesses had given.

Two men were arrested, but one was released unconditionally. A 20-year-old man of Roper Drive has been charged with break and enter with intent, breach of recognizance and two counts of breach of probation.

RASH OF VEHICLES ENTERED

Police are reminding residents to lock their car doors after four unlocked vehicles parked on Amos Drive had items stolen from them early Sunday morning.

The vehicles were entered by unknown suspects sometime between 1 and 5 a.m. In three of the vehicles, purses and a wallet were stolen.

They were recovered nearby, each missing a small amount of cash. In the fourth vehicle, all that was stolen was some change from an ashtray.

Another unlocked vehicle was entered overnight Monday. Taken from the vehicle, which was parked on James Street, were a BlackBerry and a charger valued at $500.

HOME EGGED

A home on Turrell Crescent was egged June 24 at about 3 a.m.

Police said the homeowner was sleeping when three or four eggs were thrown at the garage.

No damage was caused.
