UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Summer roadwork season continues on Steeles Avenue from Bronte Street to Tremaine Road as Halton Region does road resurfacing and sewer work. Construction is also ongoing on Thompson Road as well as Main Street East from Wilson Drive to Thompson Road, and Laurier Avenue at Coxe Boulevard.

CRUISER CRASH A GMC Safari, shown here, and a police cruiser were involved in a two-vehicle collision at Steeles Avenue and Martin Street while the cruiser was responding to a call Wednesday. The crash closed the intersection for several hours during the height of morning rush hour. No one was seriously hurt.
