We have many fitness and sports magazines as well, like Sports Illustrated, Hockey News, Shape, and Yoga Journal.
With a wide variety of home décor and gardening magazines from Better Homes and Gardens and Ontario Gardener to House Beautiful, there is plenty to choose from.
Maybe you are crazy for crafts or looking for a new hobby; our great selection of magazines is sure to satisfy your creativity with Vogue Knitting International, PC Photo, Workbench, Quilt, Paper Crafts and Creating Keepsakes. We also have a wonderful collection of Christmas magazines available for in-library use to help with cookies, decorating and gift ideas.
There’s also a wide assortment of magazines for teens and children. Teens have their own special place to hang out at the library and this includes their own magazine collection. Teen magazines cover a wide range of subjects, like Manga, fashion, music, travel and sports, and include such titles as Shojo beat, Spin, Teen Vogue, Seventeen, Mad and more.
Children’s magazines are a great resource for kids. Our children’s collection includes Chirp, Wild, HORSEPOWER, both Sports Illustrated and National Geographic Kids and loads more.
For those of you who prefer to read magazines in French, we have an excellent collection located on the top row of our magazine stands. We offer Affaires plus, Clin d’oeil, Chez Soi, Chatelaine, Enfants Quebec, Renovation Bricolage and others. These titles do not appear in our catalogue, so check our magazine stand for all our French magazines.
Our main magazine collection is located on the main floor next to our DVD collection.
Current issues are available for your enjoyment in the library, while recent issues can be checked out.
You can browse a list of our magazine collection through our on-line catalogue from home or at the library by searching “magazine” while using “Dewey call numbers” from the drop down menu of the search box. You can move through the title list by hitting the “next 10 Call no.” button. And yes, you can place holds on magazines, just like books and other materials.
For help in finding the magazine for you, please ask a staff member at the information desk. We’re happy to help you find a specific issue or a number of issues under a specific topic.
So don’t forget to check all our magazine stands at the Milton Public Library.
