Country Heritage Park will hold its Cornfest event tomorrow and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. to pay tribute to the much-loved food.
Activities will include the making of cornhusk dolls, which are what little girls played with before rag dolls.
The cornhusks will be dried out and ready for visitors to make their own dolls. There'll also be a corn maze to explore.
And, of course, there'll be plenty of Ontario sweet corn, with lots of melted butter ready to enjoy for $1 per cob.
Other exhibits open will include an 1860s farmstead where park-goers can make stringed popcorn, and a 1910 one-room schoolhouse where people can do a corn craft, embark upon a scavenger hunt with a free cob of corn at the end and listen to a story.
In addition, the play farm will be open for kids to ride the animal train, play in the corn box and more.
Country Heritage Park is located at 8560 Tremaine Rd.
Admission to Cornfest is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and $4 for kids, with a family pass available for $20. Kids under 6 are free.
