The Kelso Conservation Area in Milton will play host to the four-day event, which runs from September 23 to 26.
A fourth day has been added this year to accommodate 600 more students. Last year, 500 students were placed on a waiting list.
A turnout of 900 students is expected for each day of the event.
Registration for the event is now open. Halton school principals and teachers can register their classes now by visiting www.haltonchildrenswaterfestival.com or by calling (905) 336-1158, ext. 270.
Admission costs $3 per student. It's free of charge for adult chaperones, teachers and volunteers.
Themes will be:
"Water is a precious resource we are fortunate to have in our region and the Halton Children's Water Festival is a wonderful opportunity to remind children about its importance," Gary Carr, honorary festival co-chair, said in a press release.
The festival will be co-hosted by Conservation Halton and Halton Region in partnership with the Halton District School Board, the Halton Catholic District School Board and the Town of Oakville.
